The Perlman Music Program Sarasota Winter Residency
Founded by Toby Perlman, Mrs. Itzhak Perlman, this intensive workshop and winter residency for 12 to 20 year old students of violin, viola, cello and bass, taught by Perlman and other well-known musicians, is held during the last week of December and first week of January on the campus of the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, and presents a number of public recitals around and during the holidays. A Parade of Pirates follows the arrival of the pirate ship of Jose Gasparilla at Knight's Point on Harbour Island.
